Which Cleanser Is Right For Your Skin & The Season Of Life You Are in Today?

Every woman I know cleanses their skin at least once a day, but many have given very little, if any, thought to their choice of cleanser & the impact that this choice is having on their overall skin health. There are essentially two main cleansing groups, Foaming Cleansers* & Cream Cleanser; so which cleanser is [...]

Regain much needed balance in your life with these 15 Self Care suggestions for busy Women

In todays busy world, often times we forget to slow down and take a deep breath. Women these days tend to carry with them an incredible pressure to be everything to everyone & sadly, the one person who seems so often to miss out is them! My hope is that through Manipura Body, I can [...]

Manipura Body; Where we came from and where we are now.

Over the past few months i have increasingly felt that Manipura Body had lost its way. It was beginning to feel as though i had lost my 'Manipura' (Solar Plexus or Core Self) and were floundering along with no purpose. After months of soul searching i am thrilled to be able to share with you truly who Manipura [...]

Mother Daughter Wisdom

The mother-daughter relationship is at the headwaters of every woman’s health. Our bodies and our beliefs about them were formed in the soil of our mother’s emotions, beliefs, and behaviours. Even before birth, our mother provides us with our first experience of nurturing. She is our first and most powerful female role model.   It is from her that we learn what it is to be a woman and care for our bodies. Our cells divided and grew to the beat of her heart. Our skin, hair, heart, lungs, and bones were […]

Eczema Update

A few months back i wrote about my ongoing dilemma with my children’s skin. For many many months now, both of my children have been suffering terribly from eczema & i have been on a quest to help their poor little skin heal. We have tried a gluten free, dairy free, egg free diet (otherwise known as the ‘fun free’ diet by my husband). They have been slathered in coconut oil, bathed in olive oil & drinking pure water ….all to no avail. Then suddenly….it disappeared! […]

Old Habits Die Hard – Are Your Products Right For Your Skin NOW?

How long is it since you have had a qualified Beauty Therapist assess your skin and the products you use? For many, the answer will be “not since i was a pimply teenager” or “never”. The issue this brings is that so often our skin was completely different back then, think pimples, congestion and breakouts, to how is is today. Products recommended for skin health in your late teens & early 20’s predominantly focused on balancing oil to prevent congestion, and many people incorrectly carry these routines into their 30’s 40’s and beyond. After the age of 20, there is diminished functioning of the sweat and oil glands meaning […]

Your Natural Face

Your Natural Face Something that has perplexed me for the past 10 years is the fact that society sees the clean ‘makeup’ less face of males and approves; woman on the other hand are another story. Whether it is society, or ourselves who have created the misconception that ‘beautiful’ is a ‘made up’ face, is really irrelevant. The fact is that so many woman look in the mirror every morning and upon seeing their natural self are dissatisfied with the reflection; reaching for their foundation they let out a sigh of relief, they can now confidently attack the day. […]

Food for thought

Food for thought. This weeks’ dilemma in my household has been a shocking dermatitis type rash all over my 2.5 year olds trunk. Not being able to get into our Naturopath for over a week, I took her to see the local GP & yet again I walked away disillusioned by the lack of true CARE [...]

The resurgence of the rubber glove

The resurgence of the rubber glove. For months now, I have been struggling with dry hands, I’m talking cracked, red & irritated skin. Knowing full well that it was from the crazy number of times I do the dishes each day (one of the joys of Motherhood), I have been on a quest to find [...]
